Jennifer Gula
The my current field of reference in terms of my future is either that of research and developmental psychology or college education. I will break this interview into information gained about said field pertaining to job opportunities, preparation tools, and expected post grad lifestyle in the final paragraph.
The field of opportunity for both careers is quite expanding to say the least. In research based psychology it is ever expanding but is a field requiring much versatility in the individual. Often you work under multiple organizations or are switching organizations. If you are not switching organization you are constantly switching projects so the ability to adapt is aptly needed. Education also is something that will continue on particularly higher education which has growing numbers of students each year. The world population is in no decline so more people required more teachers simple as that.
The preparation for job will require me to make connections first and foremost. With how often socially based both professions are it is essential to make social links that will gain you farther position and more opportunities to jobs. This was recommended to be started in college before post grad work even. A persons word and acknowledgement of your character and ability go much farther than words on paper. Particularly up north I was informed that the school systems tend to be more about who you know and not what you know.
My expected lifestyle will be above average in terms of monetary acquirement's. The scheduling I can expect to be a lot more loose and in my control since I choose which research jobs to take which have flexible schedules depending on what is being done directly by me. In terms of higher education teaching the actual time in classroom is minimized and when a professor chooses to grade papers and such is left to their own time management abilities. There will be structured freedom to say the least.
