The my current field of reference in terms of my future is either that of research and developmental psychology or college education. I will break this interview into information gained about said field pertaining to job opportunities, preparation tools, and expected post grad lifestyle in the final paragraph.
The field of opportunity for both careers is quite expanding to say the least. In research based psychology it is ever expanding but is a field requiring much versatility in the individual. Often you work under multiple organizations or are switching organizations. If you are not switching organization you are constantly switching projects so the ability to adapt is aptly needed. Education also is something that will continue on particularly higher education which has growing numbers of students each year. The world population is in no decline so more people required more teachers simple as that.
The preparation for job will require me to make connections first and foremost. With how often socially based both professions are it is essential to make social links that will gain you farther position and more opportunities to jobs. This was recommended to be started in college before post grad work even. A persons word and acknowledgement of your character and ability go much farther than words on paper. Particularly up north I was informed that the school systems tend to be more about who you know and not what you know.
My expected lifestyle will be above average in terms of monetary acquirement's. The scheduling I can expect to be a lot more loose and in my control since I choose which research jobs to take which have flexible schedules depending on what is being done directly by me. In terms of higher education teaching the actual time in classroom is minimized and when a professor chooses to grade papers and such is left to their own time management abilities. There will be structured freedom to say the least.

The Eco flop
A sort of dismal failure in the fact that I did not record a start time but I can assure you the task at hand was completed. I am very conflicted in the results I a getting as well as the actual application in the website. I think it does a very nice job of laying out your needs in terms of energy and supply however when it came to ways to improve the options were less than admonishing.
I was able to reduce my ecological footprint from 3.3 planet earths to 3 plants earths. I found that in order to fulfill this I would have to become a vegetarian for the day. It was terrible. I love the taste of meat and it is very difficult to carry out this behaviour in a long term plan without being a lot more knowledgeable about nutrients. I would also like to point the reason I was unable to do more was because it was simply out of my hands. I cannot change the fact my building was made of concrete, the fact that our school does a poor job recycling, that I live in America and we have electricity. However the things within my power would include becoming vegetarian and also not seeing my family ever or very rarely. Right that sounds like a wonderful idea, I love hurting my family and girlfriend.
To address the question of money and monetary comparisons for me it is equal to make these changes. I don't pay for Gas, switching over to only veggies would not raise the price of my meal plan, it would actually lower the cost for people around me if they didn't see me. However upon exiting the security of my meal plan being a vegetarian is probably more expensive. I only assume this because of vegetarian friends who I have heard prices from and the fact of when I go to buy anything organic.

No technology kinda...
Stop
This seemed to be not so much a large deal to me as many others in my generation.Mostly this is because I was pretty poor throughout my teenage years and therefore have always been behind on the technology curve. I am in a very little way defined by the technology I own.
In all honesty to address the upside of lacking technology I found that I was able to get a lot less done in my academic studies. Not because I needed others to help me with my assignments or guide me through but rather I wanted to know what was happening in my friends life and especially that of my girlfriend who does not live near by. One would think that technology would distract modern students from actually focusing on there studies and though this may be the case in a short term view it is less productive to be lacking communication technology.
The also strong presence of lack of personnel comfort cannot be ignored. When lacking communication based technology one is unaware of when people are getting food or what any of their friends are doing. It is as if lack technology isolates an individual from society. Much in the way that many developing cultures connect by cultural traditions, sports or religion. For many it seems that technology is their God the controller and connector to all forms of communication and happiness that matter. Apart from others other materialism that can drive up happiness falls short.
In long term development however the lack of technology that is communication based would allow for a vast expansion of focus on education for many teens. These distractions I do admit hinder our educational advancement however as I and many in our generation feel there is always cost and benefit that must be looked at. I would easily give away a good bit of intelligence and wisdom by worldly standards to advance the networking, care and love expressed between both friends and lovers. So maybe this technology in hand represents not so much a dependence but a change in direction as to importance. Being the most powerful country is something largely forgotten and rather assumed in American culture for the coming generation but instead we are using technology even down to the simplest of men to define what direction we desire. May history be our judges.
Thank you and goodnight

An increasing conflict
I have noticed that in the passing election there is a strong tension with that of the "religious right" and the polarizing issue of gay marriage. It is not really a surprise to any that the general position of the church ( referring to the body of believers) is against the establishment of gay marriage. They view the issue as both a sick and rather demoralizing attack on the institution of marriage as well as an a crossing between church and state. In conventional thought it is usually the church taking over unfairly the state and imposing religious values on those in the secular realm. A lot of the fear comes from other states that have infringed upon the church (others states as in other governing bodies of different countries). Examples include France which has established that no students can wear clothing having any religious meaning or emblems. Possibly even closer to home is Canada which has implemented laws in several areas making it illegal to preach against homosexuality.
To address the issue fro the other side the gay community as well as sympathizers are equally fired up. It is not so much a think of fear so much as rage to the injustice committed against them by the church an ever prevailing entity that has in some ways unfairly presided against homosexuals. Not only does it teach there way of living is wrong but instead of addressing the issue with love and understanding, has struck out with hateful tongues and a cold shoulder. Marriage holds a civil aspect too it also allowing certain benefits to those that are engaged in a marriage. Homosexuals unable to marry feel they are biased against economically as well as extreme emotional hardship in the case of legal problems like visiting their lovers if they are in the hospital. It is often viewed as an oppression no different than denying various minorities like blacks from their rights.
Now I feel it is my responsibly as a peacemaker, as all Christians are called to be by scripture to find some resolve in the issue instead of leaving to bitter hating groups both feel pressure from the other. I think that the issue of gay marriage needs to meet a middle ground so as to alleviate the things that divide this country as well as preservation of the church in reflecting Christ's love. This middle ground that I seek is that of civil unions something many Americans do not really know about, or have direct feelings about. Civil unions appeal to both sides of the polarities on this issue because they extend the injustice of rights for homosexuals while not slamming on the conventional marriage. I realize there is some opposition from gays that feel it is putting them in a place of lower position as if a marriage is better than a civil union. Which from a christian aspect yes but based purely on rights it is not. To solidify the equality I believe that all people who wish to engage in the civil aspect of the joining of two entities should get civil unions, gay or straight. It is a legal and completely worldly joining of two people that entangles them to certain subjection's as they commit to stay together for well now a days not that long. There is also a fear on the Christian side that allowing civil unions will only give them ground to push for gay marriage. However I think that the convincing that the tension will be relieved if all people are required to receive civil unions furthering the separation of church and state. The church will handle marriages ( a religious ceremony joining a man and a woman before God) and the civil union the joining of two legal entities by the government.
This is simply the basics of how I feel on the topic and much more needs to be put on it both with swaying a gay marriage being allowed then reversed in so many states I believe it will be a hot button issue for a good deal of time to come. Also it is an urge as a christian to church international as to what there actions should entail.
Thank you,
Nathan Gula
